IEC@DVC teachers Suzanne and Anrisa held an enlightening lunch workshop about voting in the USA. Students were treated to free pizza and learned all about why the upcoming midterm elections are so important.
Some of the many points that were discussed were:
- What does it mean to be in a “red”, “blue”, or “purple” state?
- What are the different levels and branches of government in the USA?
- How do the media play a significant role in elections?
- How do people vote in the USA, and what issues do they vote on?
Students also shared what elections are like in their home countries, and the voting systems (if any).
Thank you to all for participating in a fun and informative workshop!
